It all started in February 2013 after Chris received a single serve tea maker from his mom as a Valentine's Day gift. He quickly discovered that single-serve tea selections were very limited. The traditional way of making tea was tedious and tiresome. There had to be an easier, more flavorful way...
Engineered with quality in mind
With an education in Engineering, Chris set out to create his own teas focused on making classic flavors bolder and better. After months of tedious testing and prototyping, Chris discovered that the unique physical properties of honey enabled it to be combined with tea in a single-serve cup. In 2013, True Honey Teas was born!
Four years later, True Honey Teas introduced the honey tea bag with 2x the ingredients of a standard tea bag and granular honey infused directly in the bag.
Every True Honey Teas bag contains unique botanicals, herbs, spices, and tea leaves sourced directly from farmers - steering clear of pesticides, additives, and flavorings.

It took an engineer to reinvent how we experience tea—and that engineer is Chris Savage. A tea enthusiast, entrepreneur, and the innovator behind True Honey Teas, Chris founded the company with a simple goal: to make honey-infused tea more convenient and naturally delicious. Twelve years later, he still leads the company with the same passion, driving bold flavors, all-natural ingredients, and creative blends into new markets and moments.
Michael Savage, COO
With over 40 years of executive leadership across the airline, telecommunications, and healthcare testing industries, Michael brings unmatched operational expertise to True Honey Teas. As both a seasoned COO and CFO, he’s led complex organizations at scale—experience that now powers the daily heartbeat of our business. Michael has been a key contributor since the company’s founding in 2013, officially joining full-time in 2019. As COO, he oversees all operational departments including production, shipping, supply chain, and fulfillment, ensuring that every part of True Honey Teas runs smoothly and efficiently. As the father of founder Chris Savage, Michael blends seasoned strategy with a personal commitment to the company’s mission and long-term success.
Annie, Brand and Business Development
Annie’s journey with True Honey Teas began at the booth, selling tea one cup at a time. As the company’s fourth hire, she quickly rose through the ranks—mastering event operations, building strong customer connections, and ultimately stepping into a pivotal leadership role. Today, as VP of Brand & Business Development, Annie is a driving force behind True Honey Teas’ growth, leading new product development, exploring strategic partnerships, and expanding the brand into fresh markets. Her deep understanding of the business from the ground up makes her vision both grounded and bold—perfectly steeped in True Honey Teas’ spirit.
Jessica, Sales Relationship Manager
Jessica is the bridge between True Honey Teas and the world. She leads our wholesale division, nurturing relationships with over 1,000 retailers nationwide, while also managing the day-to-day logistics and staffing of our growing events team. With a sharp eye for opportunity and a passion for people, Jessica ensures that every partner, customer, and team member feels supported. Whether coordinating a major expo or onboarding a new wholesale account, she brings energy, organization, and a commitment to excellence in every detail.
Colin, Comptroller
With a background as a manager at one of the Big Four accounting firms, Colin brings a sharp financial mind and strategic foresight to True Honey Teas. His expertise in advanced accounting methods and data-driven planning has been instrumental in fueling the company’s rapid growth. From resource optimization to financial forecasting, Colin ensures every dollar works harder—turning sound accounting into smart expansion.
Evelyn, Production Manager
Evelyn oversees the heart of True Honey Teas—where quality ingredients meet precision and care. With a deep background in food production and operations, she ensures every batch of tea is crafted to the highest standards. From sourcing to packaging, Evelyn manages the entire process with a focus on consistency, efficiency, and safety. Her attention to detail and dedication to excellence help bring our signature blends to life, one perfectly filled tea bag at a time.
